It is almost Halloween, the day of the year when the veil between our world and the next is supposed to be at its thinnest. A time of year when those departed, those of the spirit world walk amongst us freely. And so the Gothic Blogathon, celebrating that world of man’s darkest desires and truths, begins today!
I so hope you’ll join me in reading everyone’s wonderful entries. You can do so whilst traipsing along the moors in mud drenched skirts or exploring the gutted remains of a centuries old Manor House.
Maddy starts us off with her thoughts on an adaptation of a story by one of the masters of the Gothic, Edgar Allan Poe.
I share my thoughts on the decidedly deliciously demented Your Vice Is A Locked Room and Only I Have The Key.
Maddy returns to give us a tour of Crimson Peak.
Terence shares his thoughts on Brandon Lee’s gothic vigilante film.
I write about the gothic legacy found in Crimson Peak.
Paddy writes about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s masterpiece, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and the 1939 film starring the terrific pairing of Rathbone and Bruce
